Security Guard/FRIEND

Post by micecollector » Mon Oct 05, 2009 2:08 am

Through scorching heat,
bitter cold,
wind,
and rain.
(In fact, all of Kansas-type weather!)
He bears it all and does not complain.

One might say, "So what? It's his duty."
But I admire this man, a charitable soul
Whose psychic radiates such warmth and beauty.

We have taken the time
To share words and reveal thoughts on many matters.

We disclosed common interests,
This gentleman and I...
music,
writing,
especially, love of the rain.
Are but a few.

From him I learned a valuable lesson.
Sometimes it pays to take a risk:
By opening my mind to a perfect stranger
Whose only job is to protect me from danger...
I have gained a new "special" friend and a mentor.

Written for Ron Kizer and given to him as a Christmas gift.
I'm so glad I shared this when I did as he passed away the following year.

Juanita,
What a loving heart you have this poem is so touching, and I am sure it was a blessing to him, We never know who God is going to put in our pathway, and what blessings they can be to us, I am glad you opened your heart to this special man.

God Bless You Eva
