TRUE LOVE ©
He left her at daybreak
without speaking a word,
Just slipped away softly
so she never heard.
He took very little
for his needs were not great,
Not wanting to wake her
since she got in late.
He let the old truck
roll way down the hill,
Only then did he start it
for the motor was shrill.
Once out on the highway
he drove with such speed,
His thoughts were of pleasure
and of filling his need.
He saw her at last
parked down by the lake,
The beauty of her
made his hands start to shake.
Now finally it’s over
no more dreaming or wishing,
He just jumped in his boat
and set out to go fishing.
