The Strength Of A Man

Postby Shakela on Tue Jun 05, 2007 1:00 am

The Strength Of A Man

The strength of a man,
isn't seen in the width of his shoulders.
It's seen in the width
of his arms that circle you....

The strength of a man,
isn't in the deep tone of his voice.
It's in the gentle,
words he whispers....

The strength of a man,
isn't how many buddies he has.
It's how good a buddy,
he is with his kids...

The strength of a man,
isn't in how respected he is at work.
It's in how respected,
he is at home....

The strength of man,
isn't in how hard he hits.
It's in how tender,
he touches....

The strength of a man,
isn't in the hair on his chest.
It's in his heart,
that lies within his chest....

The strength of a man,
isn't how many women he has loved.
It's in can he be,
true to one woman....

The strength of a man,
isn't in the weight he can lift.
It's in the burdens,
he can carry....

Here's wishing every gentleman on NetHugs, who has carried, is going to carry and still carries the burdens of his family,
"A HAPPY, WONDERFUL AND BLESSED FATHER'S DAY!"

Love always,
Shakela

Dear Doug and Jan,

Sorry, I took some time to reply. My husband's not well and admitted into hospital. I am glad you enjoyed my poem. I've read many poems on women, their sacrifices and strengths but I can't remember reading anything posted especially for men because I believe they have their special moments, too. I've read poems dedicated to one individual person maybe like a father. grandfather, a lover, husband, fiancee or friend but nothing generally for all men.
Since Father's Day is around the corner, I just couldn't thank one man because many had played a role in my life. So, I am dedicating my poem to all the men in my life and on NetHugs because from their posted poems, poetries and stories I realise that they are extremely special and deserve something extraordinary. Thank you both once again for your reviews, comments and beautiful words of encouragement.
God bless.

Love always,
Shakela

Dear Kenny Sir,

Thank you so much for reading my poem and posting your comments and for your prayers, too. My husband is doing quite well but he still has to run some tests. I'll be posting another poem that I wrote just a few minutes ago. I hope you'll read it and let me know your comments.

Love always,

Dear Lacey,

You are so kind in stopping by poems that were posted sometime back. Thank you for reading them and bringing to memory those poems that started my writing skills at NetHugs. I'm sure your father's a pretty special man. God bless you and all those you love.
