Eva and Linner, I must admit..this one took a lot out of my heart to write, and post. Having Jeff tell me a little bit about what transpired on that last trip His friend asked him to ride on (and Jeff was in the hospital himself at the time.....and being who Jeff is, got out of the hospital bed and went on that last ride, and lives today, having gifted his friend with companionship during those final weeks of his earthly journey, as well as experiencing his friend asking Jesus into his heart..oh gosh, y'all, I'm bawling like a baby here.) when he asked me one night a few months ago to write about it, I just wrote enough for the reader to grasp a portion of what Jeff felt and feels inside, it was all I could do.
No one but God knows exactly what these two souls went through, shared, and how God worked, giving Jeff the strength of integrity, character, love, wisdom, courage and understanding to make it through what his friend and God asked of him, keeping him warm under the stars, holding that Harley up when his friend had no strength left. Jeff is such a blessing to all of us, and God whispered to me today to finally post this. He has experienced more in his lifetime than most of us would in several.
I know you all love him too. He is one special soul, that, as a community of friendships here that God has blessed us to be a part of, has touched each one of us in such a profound way.
Jeff has the God given ability to make each one of us feel so very special, and mean it sincerely from that bottomless heart of his....often times I wonder if he is an angel in disguise. I know he is our Angel, and God's child, and we love him, and he has no earthly idea of how many lives have been affected in a positive way because of his actions, words, understanding, and wisdom. Thank you so much for understanding this poem like you do...I will forever love you too, God bless you both so much,
