~~~You Broke My Heart Long Ago~~~

You broke my Heart a long time ago
and it took forever, it seemed
for it to mend and grow !
But now, once again, it's singing, happily !

You see, it's finally been set free !
A broken heart can last for an eternity
if it has nowhere else to go or be !
But now it flies like a butterfly, so peacefully !

You tore my Heart, so steadily in half
when I decided to give you, that one last chance !
You said, my Heart, you would never torment
but then you went and did it again !

I know that so many nights were spent
wishing that all of this would come to an end !
I cried everynight, while drying my eyes
and then soon I began to realize, that it was time !

It was time to for me, to just let you go
like the purest waters, and just let you flow !
You had broken my heart once too often
cause I could not stand the pain, still not forgotten !

It hurt me so bad, I hope that you know
to just let you loose, with me all alone.
Still now, to this very day,at least I can truly say
that I'm much better off, since I sent you away !

As some say, been there, done that! Me too, Shirley, I can so relate to your words. It is often hard being a giver with others taking until yes, your heart is broken....but I say, Thank you God, for being there and repairing a broken heart and saving the very best to last........where now the two of us give and take mutually and are very careful not to fall back into the places from where we both came.......He is so good..........KayD

Amen to That ! So glad You liked this write...It is a nice feeling to let some of those feelings out, once in awhile ,for sure! The Lord', is good to help sustain us, isn't He ??? And from the Heart, I wrote, I've learned many a lesson, myself, cause I have always been a Giver, as much as possible, but I guess I probably always will be..God', wld. want it that way, except in the instances of one, getting hurt !
