YOU TAUGHT ME WELL

Postby baitthebilly » Thu Jan 26, 2012 5:37 am

You Taught Me Well

Where has all that beauty gone
You'll not see any from dusk to dawn
Anything which has bloomed today
Soon will wither and die away.

You taught me well not to love again
With those deep secrets you held within
Holding me there under your spell
It is now I will always repel.

What is in man that you despise
Which makes you hide in disguise
Luring those from the opposite sex
I wander just who will become next.

There must be a reason why you hate
You do not care about any ones fate
But constantly dragging everything down
And coloring it with a distasteful brown.

I wish you had not crossed my path
Because now I am filled with wrath
Soon my heart will only die
It could not cope with you and your lie.

No longer having a peace of mind
Not trusting others that I might find
Another love that might be true
All because of the likes of you.

Dear Starvin' Marvin: I can so feel your expressed pain in this write and can so relate to it as well as I have also been there, done that......but I have learned that it takes true forgiveness for the person and for ourselves.....I also learned not to slam the door of my heart shut---with just a crack, there is hope and as I have also learned, with hope comes the new reality of a relationship full of His love....be blessed in all you do......KayD

Marvin,
WOW! You wrote what so many have been through in their lives, and was honest about how you really feel.
I know so many can relate to this, and I believe many will read it and be able to say I did find the love I was looking for with someone else. And that is what I pray for you also. This is so good!
God Bless You Eva

Thank you KayD and Eva of your comments...I believe I have cast it all behind me, though I have fleeing moments which creep up on me now and then, from the pain it had caused me..So I finally just placed it down in words in poetic form....Starvin' Marvin

Marvin: The gentle man in the picture with me is my hubby Roger......and on March 12th we will celebrate our year anniversary......we both had only left a crack open in our hearts due to both of us having severe failed relationships....yet, our Heavenly Father God intervened when we neither one were expecting it and we got "gobsmacked." We each thank God every day for blessing us and I pray He will continue to extend His arm of healing toward you........KayD

Thank you again KayD, and am happy that you and your hubby have found the comfort in each other, after going through a similar situation....I am a fighter and will not let it completely overcome me, though I will hold reservations before becoming to involved as before...Starvin' Marvin

Awesome poem full of honesty, Marvin. I think all of us can say "been there". My wish for you is someone who will value who you are, peace in your heart, and a love that will carry you through any storms life may hold! You are an awesome writer!

The deep pain and hurt you have experienced and feel are so vividly expressed in your poem! It is regretful you have been subjected to such raw emotion!
May you heal, if only one day at a time to feel the power of love!
Hang in there Marvin! You deserve happiness!!
The proud heritage of my forefathers has given me the freedoms that are those to claim as mine. May I always give homage to the sacrifices they have made to bring me to this place, this day!

Why thank you Sheila, as am sure you may recall, the subject from whence this poem was generated by...She no longer is in my life, thank goodness, but I feel quite bad for others who may be taken in by her and her deceiving ways....Someday she will reap what she sows, though I do not think it will register to her, as she believes that everything she does is the perfection way of living, her way of living, despite how it might affect others peoples lives...Dont worry about me, its in the past, and life goes on, so I too, must...Starvin' Marvin

Thank you Jeff, stopping by and your comments...Yes I believe the plan might be that through some of my writings, it may give comfort to others, knowing that they are not alone when conceiving likewise situations, within their own lives...And also to not hold it in, but to vent it out, so that the healing process can begin to better things anew...Starvin' Marvin
