~ A Friend For All Seasons ~

Postby DeaconSteve on Thu Sep 06, 2007 11:39 pm

When we first found each other -
I knew from the very start,
That we would be the best of friends -
Because the bond was in our hearts.

You have always been so very special -
And I hold you in high esteem,
For no matter it be day or night -
You are always there for me it seems.

You brighten my day when I am down -
Your smile just give me a reason,
For in this heart that God has graced -
I have found a friend for all seasons.

Being blessed the way I am -
So embraced by your gentle love,
I know that this bond we share -
Was made in heaven by God above.

You fill my needs so complete -
And continue to challenge me to grow.
We do for each other what needs to be -
That's what keeps this bond from being old.

It amazes me in so many ways -
the care and love from your generous heart,
For having know you I am a better person -
And from each other we will never part.

Each new day as the sun comes up -
I say a prayer for a very simple reason,
It's a prayer of thanks to our dear Lord -
That I too am a friend to you . . . for all seasons!

Great friendship poem Steve! It takes being a friend to have a friend!
BE TRUE TO YOURSELF!
Life is too short for drama & petty things, so kiss slowly, laugh insanely, Love truly and forgive quickly.

Very beautiful, Steve, this would make a perfect
E-Card, my friend. I want to apologize to you and to everyone else at Hugs. I have gotten way behind on reading and commenting on a lot of poems. And, I will not comment without first reading. But, since school
has started here again, my computer time has been a lot less. Not only am I taking care of James, but I am helping my niece, also.
Right now, she has 3 little boys, all under the age of 3 and James is
only 11 months, making 4 little guys, plus, my niece's 5 yr old daughter
who is at home from school, by noon. But, I will read and comment on as many as possible, because I so love reading poetry. I hope you put this
one, on your new web site, Steve, it really is beautiful.

Love and Blessings Joyful Jan

***** 5 Stars :D :D :D

Thank you my two dear friends, Maryls and Janice for you very kind comments. They are apprecciated very much. This is how I view all of my and our friends here at NetHugs, and any outside of this site. God is our greatest friend, and Jesus taught us how to be a friend. Each is very special and unique in each's own way. Jan my dear, you do not have to apologize for not being here as much as you would like. Everyone should understand that we all just do our best at the given time in posting and viewing and more posting. It is not a sin my sweet friend. I love you all. May God bless you both as He has so unconditionally blessed me.

Dearest Steve.....Another wonderful masterpiece from our very dear friend. You have always been a great friend to each of us here at NetHugs. Your example of friendship spills over into each of our lives and causes each of us to be better friends in turn. Thank you for sharing these blessed words with us. In reading your great poem, we have each taken a step forward on the path of friendship. I agree with Jan. This would make a terrific E-card. Hope Skip is watching!

May God continue to bless you and your wonderful family every day.

Love and Prayers,

One must indeed be a friend, if one is to have friends, Steve! A fact you've put very cogently within this verse. Well done, sir! and write on!!!

Thank you Karen my friend for you kind words, but really I am not all those things at all. I am a sinner just like everyone else, and an ordinary servant of the Lord. I do try to be what I can be, but first by example, and even then I often fail. You are much too kind to me, but I do appreciate your thoughtfulness and very kind heart. We are all just childdren of the Lord, and that is what makes each one of us unique and special, at least in His eyes. God bless.

MR DEACON STEVE, FIRST I ONLY WRITE TRUTH!! YOU DO SET A WONDERFUL EXAMPLE FOR ALL OF US HERE AT HUGS, I KNOW ALL WILL AGREE WITH ME. YES YOU TEACH AND YOU DO LET GODS LIGHT SHINE AND GIVE HIM THE GLORY. AND THAT DEAR FRIEND IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT. WE ALL SIN AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD , BUT THAT IS WHY HE IS LORD AND WE ARE HIS CHILDREN!!! YOU DO MUCH FOR OTHERS AND THAT GIFT OF GIVING IS FOLLOWING IN HIS FOOTSTEPS, SO JUST TAKE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE !!! SO I DO THINK YOU DESERVE THANKS LIKE YOU GIVE OTHERS FOR A JOB WELL DONE, NO REPLY NECESSARY ..... LOL. THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU,THAT IS ALL HE EXPECTS, BLESSINGS TO YOU AND THOSE YOU LOVE ALSO, HUGS, KAREN K. THANKS EVERY ONE FOR GIVING ME THE NAME 'SHINING STAR',I SHALL ENDEAVOR TO UPHOLD IT. K K.

Dearest Steve,

That was so beautiful. Yes, it is true that it only takes one friend to recognise the other. Friendship is so indepth that no words can actually describe the feelings it generates within a soul. Thanks for sharing such a lovely piece of write. God bless you and all those you love.
