When You Dream

WHEN YOU DREAM

When your head hits the pillow
And your weary eyes close
You can become anyone
As everybody knows

You can become a princess
Living in a castle grand
Or a mighty warrior
Taking a hardened stand

You might sail across the ocean
And hit a mighty wave
Or be chased by a monster
And pretend to be very brave

You may relive your youth
And spend some time at play
Or visit with your loved ones
Who have already passed away

You can float upon a fluffy cloud
Way up in the sky
And watch the twinkling stars
As they go passing by

You could become an actor
In a movie that you like
Or a famous rock star
As you gingerly grab the mike

The scenarios are endless
As you travel through your sleep
You accomplish all these wonders
Without ever making a peep

Some people dream in color
Others in black and white
No matter what the color
It's an adventure every night

Dreams are beneficial
They ease your weary mind
They make your worries dissolve away
And help your body unwind

These vacations from reality
Come to you on a moonbeam
Consider them a gift from God
Given to you when you dream

Dear Joyful Jan....Thank you, so very, very much, for all your kind words. I am so very pleased you like my poem. God sent me these words in the wee hours of the morning when I was half asleep! I do hope I did justice to His message.

Slowly but surely I will be spending more time here. For some strange reason word has gotten around about the business cards I design and make and I keep getting orders to complete.
