  3. Father knows Best

This email does have something in common with the
show. When one of his children had a challenge in their
lives (which happened on many shows) Robert Young (the
famous actor who played the Father) usually came
    through with some sage advice.

Several days ago I wrote you about some “sage” advice
I gave my daughter when she was facing some challenges.
And unlike the old TV show, there was absolutely no
    comedy in any of it.

I pointed her to a solution that helped her unload some
serious garbage in her life. If you missed that email,
or you haven’t gotten around to reading it, you might
find something that can help in your life.

    Here’s what I sent:

Human beings have a way of accumulating garbage as we go
through life. We pick some of it up as kids, through
negative experiences we have or the words of playmates,
teachers and sometimes even our parents.

Young adulthood is prime time for garbage accumulation
because our youthful “enthusiasm” often leads to
decisions that bite us in the butt. Our response usually
    creates the garbage.

If we’ve seemingly become a “magnet” for garbage
then it can continue building up across our lives. If we
don’t do something about it, it can become almost
“natural” to carry it around. In fact sometimes we
even build personal monuments to it. Every time something
bad happens in our life we run to “worship” at the
monument, as that must be the explanation for why every
thing’s gone bad in our lives.

No matter how hard we try, no matter how committed we are,
we can’t ever achieve a truly happy and successful life
if we’re hauling this garbage with us through life.

I carried a massive pile of garbage around for the better
part of thirty years. There was NO way I could ever have
achieved lasting success, much less peace, with the pile I
was carrying around. After a painstaking effort I got rid
of the biggest part of it and it was like the scales
falling away from the blind man’s eyes. Since then
I’ve enjoyed the very best part of my life, by far!

A few months ago my daughter had some “challenges” in
her life. I recognized that the cause of these challenges
was some garbage she had carried around for years (believe
me, I’ve got so much experience with garbage that its
    easy for me to recognize).

And I knew just what she could use to get rid of asignificant part of it. It’s a product that I’verecommended to our subscribers on several occasions
because I’m told on how powerful it is.

Now I’m sure some people who get our emails promoting
something may question whether we’re just trying to sell
something or whether we really believe in it. Well the
truth is, I don’t ever offer anything if I wouldn’t use it myself, and in most cases, I have in fact used it.
That’s why I’m comfortable recommending it.

I very definitely would never recommend something for my
daughter that I didn’t have full and complete confidence in. And I’m happy to report that it was extremely
helpful for her. Here’s part of what she has to say about it:

“When I first tried it, I enjoyed the relaxation that came each time I listened.(For me, the best way of
listening was by downloading the tracks onto my iPhone, so
that I could take it with me easily wherever I went.)

“After some time, perhaps three weeks or so, I noticed that I began to feel some discomfort at times. I would
find myself becoming agitated and even downright sad for no apparent reason. I wasn’t thinking about anything negative in particular, but the feelings would surface
nonetheless. So I decided to go back and read the booklet
that came when I first received the program.

“Sure enough, I was experiencing a very appropriate (and
as it turned out, very common) response to listening to
the program. What was happening was, the more I listened,
my subconscious was revealing to me past hurts and fears
that I had attempted to bury. Some of these things I
hadn’t even consciously realized were there.

“I thought, ‘It’s odd that that would still bother me today.’ I learned something very valuable: even
things that I thought were in my past were not fully resolved.

“And so I set out to resolve the things that had begun to surface. What was interesting was that it wasn’t that
hard to do. I would have a conversation with myself about
the problem, and what could be causing it. The answers
came so unexpectedly, that I wondered why I hadn’t
    figured them out before!”
