I said a prayer for you today
And I know God must have heard -
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word.

I didn’t ask for wealth or fame -
(I knew you wouldn’t mind)-
I asked him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!

I asked that He’d be near you
At the start of each new day
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share your way.

I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small,
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all.

I wanted to find some words on a card.
That would help to get thru it when life gets so hard.
It seems you can’t bear it – perhaps can’t go on -
When deep in the heart there’s no trace of a song.

Some words that would comfort -
when late in the night the trials return and -
you’re too tired to fight.
Or the tears flow so often it seems you’ll run dry.
And life gets so tough that you just want to die -
Or at least go and hide -
where you’re safe from all pain.
Someplace you can rest ’til you find joy again.

What are the words you so need to hear -
That will help and will heal and remove all the fear -
That builds up inside ’til you think you’ll explode -
What are the words that will lighten the load?
If only I knew the right words to say.
To encourage and Bless you or comfort some way.
I know not the words but this I can do.
I shall offer up Prayers to the Father for you.

A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only two of the men on it were able to swim to a small, desert like island.

The two survivors, not knowing what else to do, agreed that they had no other recourse but to pray to God. However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the island.

The first thing they prayed for was food. The next morning, the first man saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and he was able to eat its fruit. The other man’s parcel of land remained barren.

After a week, the first man was lonely and he decided to pray for a wife. The next day, another ship was wrecked, and the only survivor was a woman who swam to his side of the land. On the other side of the island, there was nothing.

Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, more food. The next day, like magic, all of these were given to him. However, the second man still had nothing.

Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that he and his wife could leave the island. In the morning, he found a ship docked at his side of the island. The first man boarded the ship with his wife and decided to
leave the second man on the island.

He considered the other man unworthy to receive God’s blessings, since none of his prayers had been answered.

As the ship was about to leave, the first man heard a voice from heaven booming, “Why are you leaving your companion on the island?”

“My blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who prayed for them,” the first man answered. “His prayers were all unanswered and so he does not deserve anything.”

“You are mistaken!” the voice rebuked him. “He had only one prayer, which I answered. If not for that, you would not have received any of my blessings.”

“Tell me,” the first man asked the voice, “What did he pray for that I should owe him anything?”

“He prayed that all your prayers be answered.”

For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone, but those of another praying for us.

If I could make a miracle
I’d make one just for you
If I could make a rainbow
That’s just what I’d do.

If I could change a second
Of any day gone by,
For you I’d do it anytime
Or at least, for you, I’d try.

If I could change your life anew,
I’d change it for the best
But since I haven’t angel wings,
My powers aren’t blessed.

So if you don’t mind–for I’m not sure,
I’ll call upon another:
The one who can do anything
My own sweet Heavenly Father.

To Him I’ll send a prayer for you,
One that will make you blessed
As you carry on this earthly life,
On this your heavenly quest.

This is the very greatest gift
That I have to provide,
To send my precious Heavenly Father
To sit at your sweet side.

If it would help to send a rose,
to ease the pain you’re feeling..
I’d send so many roses,
to bring about the healing.

If I could think of a gentle word,
that would touch your troubled mind.
I’d send the word with a snow white dove,
God’s Peace then you would find…

A thousand poems I’d write for you,
If I really knew just how.
But if these poems touched your heart,
I’d make a start right now.

But as I could not understand,
just what pain you’re going through,
I’d just go off to a quiet place,
and I’d kneel in prayer for you.

This morning when I wakened
And saw the sun above,
I softly said, “Good morning, Lord,
Bless everyone I love.”

Right away I thought of you
And said a loving prayer,
That He would bless you specially,
And keep you free from care.

I thought of all the happiness
A day could hold in store,
I wished it all for you because
No one deserves it more.

I get down on my knees each night
And ask the Lord above
To keep me safe another day
And to fill my heart with love

To help me keep my promises
That I have made today
To remind me to thank those I should
And to be helpful along the way

I ask Him to watch over me
And those that I hold dear
To keep them warm and safe from harm
And to keep them in good cheer

I ask that He please help me
Keep my anger to a frown
I ask Him to give me a reason to smile
If I start feeling down

This is what I pray each night
Before I go to sleep
To help make me a better me

and bow my head in prayer,
I ask that you’ll forgive my sins,
and show me that you care,
