I do really miss those days when people actually cared for one another, things were so good and just a simple way of life without all the damn politics and everyone trying to ruin what was once so good!! Life was pretty good yet in the 60’s, 70’s and even the 80’s, I just wish I could go back and live back home with my parents!! So much better then 2019 and soon to be 2020. Life now is a real bummer and I don’t think it is going to be any better for future generations, so sad!!

Remember well. I had my 6th birthday in children’s hospital in Knoxville, Tn. I had polio and was very sick. It took a while before they found out what was wrong with me. But I wasn’t left crippled like some. I remember the iron lung and a little girl in it. But I remember good times, too.

Wonderful time of life people enjoyed each other worked hard played hard got married early fifties There was “relief” to help people when a job was Lost And needed assistance it did not become a way of life as welfare does today. People were too proud And did not have that slave mentality needing to be Cared for from Birth to the grave. As for education far more intelligent people from being raised by caring hard working people And the teachers were a thousand percent hard workin without Govt. Intervention Those teachers taught how to Think not, what to Think .jobs were held with twelve years of education today those jobs command college degree with a masters And yet they are incompetent. Yes those were the good old days I am grateful that the Youth today don’t have the memories of yesteryear otherwise they would be in constant depression.

Oh what wonderful times they were. Sure wish we could bring them back. Everything was so much better then and everybody helped each other out and it didn’t matter who you were or who they were but now you have to be so careful as you might get killed, robbed or who knows what. Thank God for those good years.

I remember Government giving out boxes of Cheese to the needy. Later on it was known as Commodities for the poor and needy. A building was used to keep boxes of Powdered Eggs, Cheese, Peanut Butter, boxes of Dried Creamed Potatoes, Powdered Milk, and canned Vegetables & Meats. This way of feeding the very poor in poverty, from my understanding was not available until the late 60’s. As for back as I remember there were lot of extended families who grew Cotton, Corn, and planted very large Vegetable Gardens. People helped each other. Especially, the people who were very poor and unable to buy the Seeds to plant very much, the more well off families gave the poor vegetables they grew. Men did the hunting for meats. Rabbit boxes were made to trap rabbits, more fishing & hunting were done in the 40’s, 50’s, & 60’s. They made fish baskets, trout lines for fishing in Rivers & Creeks. People were smarter back then more than some people might think. They knew more about living off the land that God put here for us. The seeds to plant for food, the animals God put on earth for meats.
Drugs & Alcohol was not a problem so much as this day & time. Maybe some Shine or Corn Liquor was home made back in the old days. It was a good time, a better time. THE BEST OF TIMES. GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY. I WOULD TAKE THE 50’S & 60’S BACK IF I COULD. GOD BLESS US ALL AND GOD BLESS THE USA. LOVE TO EVERYBODY—-MARY HALL

I guess everyone thinks that it was a fun time when they were teenagers, but truly, the fifties were special. I feel sorry for people who didn’t get to experience that time. It was so much fun to me, a simpler time, safer. I have many great memories of the fifties, and really enjoyed this video and song.

THIS IS GREAT ITS JUST SO MUCH , THAT TODAY, SOME KIDS, JUST DON’T KNOW HOW FAR WE CAME,BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE NO ONE LOOKS UP ANYMORE BECAUSE THEIR HEAD’S ARE ALWAYS LOOKING DOWN TEXTING, OR PLAYING GAMES, IT SEEM LIKE BACK IN THE 50’S WE HAD MORE FUN TOYS AND GAMES, AND LOOKED UP,TO SEE THE REST OF THE WORLD. PEOPLE TODAY WILL WALK INTO A POLE, A POOL OF WATER, KILL YOU DRIVING A CAR,OR WALK RIGHT INTO A MOVING CAR….AND YOU KNOW WHY ?? TRY THIS –ASK SOME KIDS TO TELL YOU WANT TIME IT IS ON a clock with the minute hand–bet 7 out of 10 can’t tell you the time of day
weather its (am) or (pm) try this and see for yourself.

The 50s were the best of times. Everybody who wanted a job had one and as a result Americans were happy and America flourished. Today, we’ve discovered that no one can be too rich and, as a result, millionaires and billionaires take their money to offshore banks where it does nobody any good and we are mired in debt with no way to pay it off because, even for those who have jobs, prices continue to rise and people are doing well to put a roof over the heads of their families and food on the table for them, also.

Those were the special times I lived in. Thanks for not letting us forget the best of times. Why could not we have kept some of the good old times so that younger generations wouldn`t have to live in the hell (asI call it) of this day in time. We all would be happier, so much stealing, killing, gang rape, destroying Christianity, and not so much other types of sin.

This was a great trip down memory lane…the fiftys were the best times ever,,I married in 1950′ and it was a wonderful time to have a family…every thing felt safe you didn’t lock your doors and you were not scared to let your children play in the yard..people visited each other..sat out on their porches and all ways had time for stop .
By visitors…American was a country that served GOD,,, and we have lost that safe feeling we once had in our
Neighbor hood…oh to have the good old times of the Fiftys back…

I was born 1951 and I don’t remember much of the 50’s but I wish I had of been there. It was such a fun happy time and I so love the music of that era.I still love the music and I guess I always will. The only sad part about it was the racism and I’m sorry to say it still is with us and it hurts to know there are those that will continue to let it live on, but it is getting better .This was a great memory trip also as I do remember a lot of it.
