I read a joke about an elderly woman and a robber. An elderly woman had just gotten home from church services and she saw a man robbing her home. She shouted “Acts 2:38” at him and it stopped him in his tracks. She calls the police and calmly tells them what she did. Later on, the police officer arresting the burglar asked him, “Why did you just stand there? All the old lady did was yell a Scripture to you”. The burglar says, “Scripture? She said she had an ax and two 38s!”

God Bless this wonderful lady. She was right as she would go to heaven, and he would go to hell if anything bad should happen to her. Because of her strength and guidance from the Lord her life was saved, and maybe the robber’s eternal life is saved as well.

Reminds me of the thief on the cross. Jesus met him right where he lived and yet looked into his heart enough forgive him and take him home with Him. Wonderful story.
