I learned to drive when I was around 15. My first car was a 57 Chevy 2 door hardtop. It was a straight shift. I had a hard time with straight shift and still do. One late evening I was on my way to work. I made it until I came to a hill. I tried every shift, but it would not move. A car pulled up behind me and he must have figured what was going on, so he got in and got my car up the hill. I was thankful, but I barely made it to work. Everybody at work got a good laugh on me. 65 and still can’t drive a straight shift. LOL.

I learned to drive in a Model T Ford ……..,.,and in a pea patch. Well, it had been a pea patch but all of the peas had been harvested and the vines had been bundled for hay. What a fun way to learn. I was fifteen and I thought it was great!

I remember riding in some of the cars that were made back in the 50’s. Too bad those cars are not made like that anymore.
