Jambalaya (On The Bayou) – Brenda Lee

The very first recording made by “Little” Brenda Lee was a cover of the Hank Williams hit “Jambalaya”. The billing on the label states: “Little Brenda Lee – 9 Years Old”. Well, Decca was being a bit economical with the truth, since Brenda was in fact 11 years old at the time of this first recording session – July 30, 1956 in Nashville TN.
