Being a Friend
There is a difference between being an acquaintance and being a friend. An acquaintance is someone whose name you know, who you see every now and then, who you probably have something in common with and who you feel comfortable around.
It’s a person that you can invite to your home and share things with. But they are people who you don’t share your life with, whose actions sometimes you don’t understand because you don’t know enough about them.
On the other hand, a friend is someone you love. Not that you are “in love” with them, but you care about them and you think about them when they are not there. The people you are reminded of when you see something they might like, and you know this because you know them so well. They are the people whose pictures you have and whose faces are in your head regardless.
Friends are the people you feel safe around because you know they care about you. They call just to see how you are doing, because a friend doesn’t need an excuse. They tell you the truth, the first time, and you do the same. You know that if you have a problem, they are there to listen.
Friends are the people who won’t laugh at you or hurt you, and if they do hurt you they try hard to make it up to you. They are the people you love, regardless of whether you realize it.
Friends are the people you cried with when you got rejected from colleges and during the last song at the prom and at graduation. They are the people that when you hug them, you don’t think about how long to hug and who’s going to be the first one to let go.
Maybe they are the people that hold the rings at your wedding, or maybe they are the people who give you away at your wedding, or maybe they are the people you marry. Maybe they are the people who cry at your wedding because they are happy or because they are proud.
They are the people who stop you from making mistakes and help you when you do. They are are the people whose hand you can hold, or you can hug or give them a kiss and not have it be awkward because they understand the things you do and they love you for them.
They stick with you and stand by you. They hold your hand. They watch you live and you watch them live and you learn from them. Your life is not the same without them.
These are your friends.

You sent this to me in August. I like the last part. Friends stick with you and stand by you. They hold your hand. They watch you live and you watch them live and you learn from them. Your life is not the same without them.So much has happened this past year but my feelings for you havent changed. I am waiting still for true love. Do you remember I said that to you. You took a piece of my heart. I hope someday you will return it. Eventhough you are not here you are in my heart. I miss you.

One of the best things that has happened to me in my life was when we talked at Tom’s house and became good friends. Our e-mails have been a joy and I look forward to hearing from you. We do have some that we agreed not to forward and they are truly good. Let’s keep it up as long as we can. Hope Jim is feeling a lot better and you take care of yourself.
HAVE A HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY. Polly

True friendship is based upon trust and mutual understanding. It endures through thick and thin, perseveres against all odds. True friends have their priorities right and know what they look for from each other and verbalize their heart’s longings and desires without fear or favour but with due consideration to each other’s feelings; have utmost respect and concern for each other. True friendship thrives in hardships and misunderstandings cannot sever true friends from each other no matter what. Its a rare thing to find true friends in today’s world but one can cultivate the traits of a true friend with God’s help. To be a friend one must be friendly in his approach to others (Proverbs).

This is a beautiful message and follows the teaching of Christ. We all have faults and short-comings but friends accept them unquestioned and forgive with a renewed chance in life. Where would we be without friends? Life is too short to hold grudges or bad feelings, we know things can be done in haste or said in a time of stress that wouldnever be done in good times. So, hold the good times in your heart and remember a friend is always there supporting and wishing nothin but the best.

This is so beautiful,The words are so true! This is what we need in life is more true friends, loyal sincere and loving. When you have a true friend, its like you are walking on air with the warm glowing feeling that you are both one no matter the distance.Peace thru that nothing can penetrate. But if that is lost for whatever reason then there is a hole so deep that you cant fill and the abject feeling of being alone without that special person is total despair!

Very Beautiful card and thank you. : )
A True friend loves you at all times and does not put conditions on your friendship. True friends are just as certain as the morning Sun you know it is going to come up and be there each day.
True friends know what love means and know in order to have friends you must first be one.
To all of my friends I love you and Hope your day is a Blessed one. Jesus is what a true friend is like we love, we cry, we forgive, and we accept each others faults for we are not perfect and we all have faults, but we always look for the good in each other and not the bad, and forgive always, no matter the pain. Maggie 🙂
