It made me cry ( mostly happy), but for the by-gone days. We had so much fun just dancing,, playing songs, drive-ins, the neatest cars ever and we didn’t hurt anyone while enjoying life. Thanks so much for taking me back to my best time of my life.

That sure did bring back old memories, as I graduated from High School in June, 1939. Yes the 30’s, 40’s. 50’s and 60’s were really a great time for Ballroom Dancing. Good old swing time bands and really great singers during those years. May GODs Angels continue to watch over all of you forever, is my prayer.

I loved the video, brought back a lot of good memories, etc. One thing I did notice that the video did not contain other ethnic groups. For example, I could hear music by African American musicians, Johnny Mathis, etc., but never any pictures of African Americans, Latinos, etc. Perhaps It was a sign of the times before Dick Clark’s American Bandstand became integrated. Even thought the video portrayed a lot of the times, dances, clothes, cars, etc.; did not think it was representative of all of America. Perhaps we have come a long ways.

Yes Brian I lived in those good old days too. My husband and I enjoyed ballroom dancing, so we really had a great time doing the good old Balboa Shuffle, Swing and a nice waltz together. He had a three window cooup 1939, which we sure did enjoy barreling around in for sure. May GODS Angels continue to watch over you forever, is my prayer.r.

Great Oldies – brought back lots of great memories.
The shift was into 2nd gear – just like I would do on my 1952 Ford.

Great music, dances, cars, images and wonderful memories of my teen years from 1953-1959! They were carefree days, good clean fun, hugging and kissing, but little promiscuity! Truly some of the happiest days of my life and of our nation. We were naive by today’s standards, but I would not trade those days for any other period in American history. They were the “Best of Times” and they will be with all from the “1950’s generation” until the day we pass on. Thanks for sharing these precious films and music as a reminder of how great we had life in the glorious “fifties”!

Dear Mary,
Thank you for being so kind and loving. Lately, my journey has been very rocky. But, with people like you, and some of my dear friends it is a bit easier.
For most of my life, I had great success, served my community, raised children, and so on. Then, I had a life changing accident and became disabled. I could no longer do the things I loved but, I still was able to volunteer. Then, the PTSD really got in the way of having a normal life.I had every agency looking for a PTSD coping group to no avail. Then, one day A Miracle happened by way of a CHP officer who had to assist me on the freeway.
He was very kind and gave me a technique to better handle hearing a siren which happened when we were in a parking lot waiting for the tow truck. He stayed with me as long as he could. He explained the “waves” the “trigger” and was honest by telling me it could last a lifetime.
I then set out everyday to do my homework as it now became my mission so my life could improve. I wanted so much to find my officer to thank him personally. Then, God performed a miracle and I got my wish to thank him personally. It was actually another CHP officer who helped me. They both agreed that God had a hand in this.
I ended up talking to their LT. Commander about some kind of award. He said the best thing I could do was write a letter for their employee file as it “would be considered in their next annual performance review.”
This I know for sure, I kept asking God everyday to help me find the officer. I ran into the other officer at a coffee house, he then called the one I was looking for.
I have known about the Angels that God sends down to earth since I was a wee one. And, now, I have two more Angels who are also CHP officers. I also have all of you(ANGELS) to help me feel less alone in this strange new world.
LOTS OF HUGS,
MIMI

Mimi, Jesus Christ loves you. Always remember His love for you and He died on the cross for all our sins. You know He is our precious Lord Jesus. He was risen from the dead three days later. He is now in Heaven. He will be back one day for all His people who lived for Him, believed in Him as our one and only Saviour.
I don’t know how our Heavenly Father straightens out the crooked pathways we face or fills the valleys we walk through or removes the mountains that block our way… but I’m asking Him to do those very things for you and all others today.
Is anything too hard for the Lord?

THANK YOU ANITA AND MARY.
I’m so glad a friend sent me this site and found people like the two of you. Now, because of all of you, I feel less alone. I was getting kind of negative which is not like me at all. I have spent most of my life always looking on the bright side. But, lately, I just wasn’t feeling like me.
A special friend sent me this site because she is my special angel, and always knows what I need without telling her. Now, I have found many angels which gives me hope for this New World.
HUGS,
Mimi

Anita, I told you that you are a good person and I am not the only one who knows it. I feel like I have known you all my life. There is still alot of good people left in this world and you are on the top of my list, I know God put you here for a reason, and it shines through you every day. Through Jesus Christ, you are a blessing to us all. I would love to meet you, but in case we do not, I Pray to God, we will meet each other in Heaven one day. I believe God and His Angels are watching over you, because you are a very good person who is filled with Love for Jesus Christ and all of God’s people. Through God, your Crown is full of Stars. Your heart is full of words of Wisdom. Through God, I also believe you are one of His Angels. I love you. May God walk with you wherever you go and do. Praise God Our Saviour. He loves us all. Dear Anita,
Thank you so much for your comment as it warmed my heart. I have always believed that GOD has angels on earth in human form. I think you just might be one of them. Your comment helped me feel LESS ALONE in this new world.
By the way, I got to see the very last performance(Glendale Car Show) of Jan and Dean before Jan died.. We all stood there with tears rolling down our cheeks when they carried him out in a chair. He could not lift up his head but, he could play the guitar really well.
I never knew that Dean stayed with him all of those years and was the one to get him back on the stage. All of that garbage about Dean was never true. There is a memorial at the exact spot in Los Angeles where Jan had the accident right after they recorded Dead Mans Curve. Many people still put flowers and notes there.
It broke my heart when Jan had that awful accident along with Richi Valens dying in the plane crash. Of course, what happened to JFK changed our lives forever. But, still, THEY WERE THE BEST OF TIMES.
MANY HUGS,
MIMI

Jan and Dean I agree with everything you said in your comment, as I live back in those days and thankful that I have great memories about those times. I am 93 years young at heart, but slightly older in other places. I still enjoy this good music, but longer able to do the Jitterbug, but thankful I was able to when I was young. May GODs Angels continue to watch over you forever, is my prayer. Anita

I LOVE all this music — and can’t resist plugging my memoir of the 1950s, released by Oak Tree Press last year, set in Queens, New York, called Only You. It’s filled with the music of “our” era. See it on amazon.com..

You’re right Jean Bates, those were the best days for anyone who was lucky enough to have lived in them like we did. Hard drugs were just about not even heard of, the same goes for rapes, robberies, racial fighting, and a lot of other bad stuff that’s happening these days. Even the music made and played in those days had so much more meaning than the music of today. Hey, we have to thank God we did at least live and had our share of fun back then, that’s so much better than what the kids of today will have to look back on when they get to be our age, that is if they make it that far. If God took me tomorrow, then so be it, I lived in the best time that anyone could ask for. Thank you Lord.

Another great video! I would looooove to go back to those days and relive them but for them to never end. they were some of the best days of my life, simple and fun!! Just can’t believe they are over and we will never see them again! All we can do now is hold on tight to the memories and that Nethugs will bring us more of these kind of videos to share.
