Thank you for that story I still have tears in my eyes, you see Berlin was my home till the age of six when we came to America. I remember the bombed out houses, the shortage of food and the pains of war.I can say with a happy heart I’m proud to be an American. God bless America.

This story brings back memories. While serving in the navy during the Korean war we stopped in some ports in Italy and Turkey. We encountered children that had very little to eat and begged for food as they seemed to be starving.
Our ship was small USS Bold (MSO424), a wooden hulled minesweeper. What we were able to do for the little ones
seemed to little as their needs was so great.

What an exceptional man with such a big heart God Bless him and his kindness. If only we could bring back the true spirit of Christmas. People today do not realise just how fortunate they are and how to be content with what they have already. Thank you so much for sharing, it was magical.

Likewise, every time I watch this, it brings several tears to my eyes also. I was stationed in Frankfurt, W. Germany from March 1960 to January of 1962.

What a beautiful story. We need more stories of this kind to make us stop and think what Christmas is all about. Stories like these help us maintain the belief that there is hope for mankind.

GOD Bless Hal for being so loving and kind. We all need to reach out to others to help bring ” PEACE INTO THEIR LIVES AND FEEL THE LOVE OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, I truly enjoy that wonderful memory, as I had been married for four years during World War 11. The Mormon choir was truly lovely. May GODS Angels watch over all of you forever, is my prayer.
