The Statler Brothers, originally known as The Kingsmen, were formed in 1955 in Staunton, Virginia. The group consisted of brothers Harold Reid, Phil Balsley, Don Reid, and their friend Lew DeWitt. With their rich harmonies and a mix of gospel and country influences, The Statler Brothers enjoyed a successful career that spanned several decades. They released numerous albums and had many hit songs, including “Bed of Rose’s,” “Do You Remember These,” and “Elizabeth.”
The group retired from touring in 2002 but continued to make occasional appearances and released new music. Throughout their career, The Statler Brothers won several awards, including multiple Grammy Awards and Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. They were also inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008.
“Flowers on the Wall” remains a timeless classic in country music and showcases The Statler Brothers’ unique vocal talents and songwriting abilities.
