For the Good Times – Ray Price
In 1970 Ray Price recorded a version of the song which topped the US country music chart and was awarded “Song of the Year” by the Academy of Country Music. “For the Good Times” was Price’s fifth #1 single and spent 19 weeks on the chart. I saw Ray Price‘s funeral the entire thing on TV. It was marvelous and so heart wrenching’s. Ray and his wife were wonderful people. I only wish I could’ve got to meet them in person however I will see them in heaven???

Ray was always a favorite with me. I sat with him one winter nite in a little tavern in L’ville KY, in the early 70’s. He got up and sang that song and the place erupted!! We bonded that nite…
