Angels

Post by Marjorie Johnston » Fri Jan 21, 2011 3:41 pm

As a child, I loved the angel topper on the Christmas tree;
The light made her glow as she smiled down on me.
I loved to make angel shapes in the fresh blanket of snow;
Mother told me more about angels, because I wanted to know.

Angels can be messengers, like Gabriel,
Who told Virgin Mary that “All will be well.”
An angel appeared to Joseph in a dream:
That Mary was not unfaithful, as it may seem.

To the shepherds, an angel announced the Savior’s birth;
And with a host of others, sang: “Peace be to earth.”
The angels protected and guarded Jesus, as He grew –
God’s angels watch over you, and care for you too!

Angels can predict the future – but don’t worship them!
They are only servants of those who inherit salvation.
Don’t look down on God’s little ones, or cause them stress –
For their angels are in His presence, and He wants to bless.

The Bible says angels are like the wind: powerful, unseen –
We don’t know where they go, or where they have been.
They are like flames of fire – bringing comfort, and light;
They go before us, and guide us through the dark night.

With faces like lightning, and clothes white as snow;
Or they may appear as men, whom we do not know –
So welcome strangers, and with them share,
For some have entertained angels, unaware.

Hello Again, Marjorie,
Yes, the Bible has so much to say with regards to angels and their God given assignments!!!

Like your Mother's Poem says:
The Bible says angels are like the wind: powerful, unseen –We don’t know where they go, or where they have been.
They are like flames of fire – bringing comfort, and light;
They go before us, and guide us through the dark night.

Yes,there is so much on the subject of Angels in the Bible!!!
Psalm 91:11
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
WOW!!! This is some statement!!!

Psalm 34:7
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. WOW!!!

Hebrews 1:14
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? WOW!!!

As you know,there are so many testimonies with regards to *ANGELS* in the Bible and Christians today have many testimonies with regards to *ANGELS* as well!!!
*ANGELS* have always been a part of the plan of God in all our affairs, as you know,and although we can't see them except on the rare occasion when God so chooses to open our eyes to the spiritual realm, we should be spiritually in tune with this *truth* that there is *ANGELS* all around us!!!
In my opinion, If we as christians would be so inclined to realize that we have such an audiance among us, we just may walk a little more softly before God and before one another.
Let us pray for one another that we become more *aware* of our spiritual surrounding!!!
Before I go, a friendly reminder from my heart to yours,
*Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God* 1 John 4:7
God Bless You
I Love You
Love & Prayer's

Hello Marjorie,
I didn't realize that you had written this Poem. Now that I know, the following now makes sense:
*The light made her glow as she smiled down on me*
I couldn't figure out how this could occur way back when, but now I do, just fast forward a couple of generations.
Your Poem was beautifully written - I enjoyed it!!! Looks like you are following in your mother's footsteps!!!
Keep up the good work!!!

A couple of weeks ago I was participating in a Zoom meeting where the topic was "Angels". I remembered that I had written this poem about 10 and a half years ago. Lucky for me that I posted it on Net Hugs because I would have had a hard time to find a printed copy of my poem. Thank you NetHugs!
