You have the King David’s part right, because he saw the beautiful young woman on a roof bathing. Her husband was sent into the front lines of David’s army, and he was killed. Therefore the King was able to marry her and take her as a wife. The other part is in reference to Samson and Delilah. Anyone having read the Old Testament stories can pick out just what each line was referring to. Perhaps a reading is in order.

I went on-line to see what the words were to this song. The lyrics seem to point to King David’s adultery but don’t know the scripture about him being tied to a chair and having his hair cut. Confusing. verses 3&4 don’t make any sense. I do like the Hallelujah’s but not sure how they fit with the lyrics. Maybe a young person can explain it to me. Or maybe Net Hugs can. Even better.
