The 1968 Comeback Special, also known as the ’68 Special or the Elvis NBC TV Special, was a pivotal moment in Elvis Presley’s career. By the late 1960s, his popularity had declined due to competition from other music genres and his focus on movie roles. To revitalize his career, Elvis performed in a televised special that aired on December 3, 1968.
