Still love this. My little guy is still with me and is STILL my shadow. A selfish thought on my part…where would I be now if he was not at my side! We continue to deal with all his health issues, but he is so full of love. It is heartbreaking even now, to think how he must have been treated. We both move a little more slowly now, but that is okay. Thankful for each day.

Got this almost three years ago, loved it then, love it more now! I did at age 80 take a rescue dog. He was left by the roadside and has many, many health issues, as we discovered. But, I could not part with him because of that. He became my shadow and still is. He was about seven then and he still follows me. Why anyone would have a pet and not at least teach them the basic commands is beyond me. The little guy also seems to never have had any one-on-one attention. He gets as much as I can give him and he gives it right back. He was so shaggy they were unsure what kind of dog he was until he was groomed! So sad. We ended up rescuing each other. Funny how that works! I am grateful.

Heartbreaking and beautiful. Well done. As for the negative comments, I agree these respondents probably never had a pet – and, yes, they become a very important part of your family. Been there, done that. Getting ready at age 80 to do it again. Wouldn’t miss it for the world! Loyalty, unquestionably full of love. How could you miss that!
