It’s Only Make Believe – Conway Twitty (Live)
Saturday Night Beech-Nut Show. January 17, 1959. This is some of my favorite footage. We get a rare glimpse of the view from outside the Little Theater. Then as Conway Twitty begins his song, you can see the entry way from the inside of the doors. Then we follow as he walks into the main studio theater. It’s like getting a rare vintage tour of a place I’d love to go and visit. What did you think? Please tell us in the comment section below and remember to sign up for our free newsletter.

Enjoyed this performance once again! Just too darn short. Dick Clark said absolutely nothing about the performance at the end. I wonder if he even heard it? 😍

I have always liked Conway Twitty. He was a unique man. Love his music. You are right, I would have been turned around watching him walk down the aisle! Good song!

Always love this song by Conway Twitty. Good footage. Only….as he is walking the isle, the audience does not seem too excited to see him (as some of them do turn around.) When he is about to enter onto the stage, they seem to be looking in another direction?? I will have to watch (and listen) again…..maybe I am not seeing well this late evening. Lol
