Living Off the Grid in Paradise
Warrick Mitchell lives deep in one of the world’s most remote locations: Fiordland, New Zealand. His home in the country’s oldest national park is nestled in a vast wildness accessible only by boat or airplane, a four day’s walk from the nearest road. Life in isolation can be hard, but surrounded by breathtaking, pristine natural beauty, plentiful wildlife and a small but tight-knit community that is always willing to lend a hand, Mitchell would have it no other way. Wow! Now that’s what I call living, I would definitely welcome that as a chance of off grid living. I grew up in a small town and we didn’t have an inside bathroom and had to carry our water from a so called pump house that my dad had to make, first we had the old hand pump to pump the water then my dad upgraded to a faucet but we still had to carry it to our cabin spring, summer, fall and winter! Not anyone could hardly live that way now days and for sure not in new Zealand.
