Lonely Street – Andy Williams
Recorded in 1959 when Andy Williams was 32 years old. The album “Lonely Street” is concept album much like Frank Sinatra’s “Only the Lonely” in that it is filled with bleak torch songs. However, unlike the Sinatra record, this LP is a very bluesy and jazzy. The original liner notes stated that the tracks were hand picked by Williams himself, and were among his all-time favorite songs. What did you think? I was lucky to grow up during the time when their were many great singers like Andy Williams, Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin just to name a few.

One of the last great singers of his era. Wonderful. Miss him.

I graduated in 1952 and heard this song many times but don’t remember what years it was popular. I love it.
