Love is Like a Rose
Love is like a rose
It will blossom for a while
If it’s not cared for it can
Fade away without a smile
Love is like a rose
As special as it can be
It needs some tender care
Like the love between you and me
Love is like a rose
No matter what color it may bloom
But it may never grow
If we don’t give it enough room
Love is like a rose
With its thorny little stem
If you don’t watch for the thorns
You can easily get stuck by them
Love is like a rose
That keeps blooming inside your heart
And keeps right on growing
Even if you’re so far apart
Love is like a rose
In many shades of color don’t you see
But this is one special rose
That grows just for you inside of me

Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport as the daughter’s departure had been announced.
Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said: “I love you and I wish you enough.”
The daughter replied, “Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom.”
They kissed and the daughter left.
The mother walked over to the window where I sat. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry.
I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, “Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?”
“Yes, I have,” I replied. “Forgive me for asking but why is this a forever good-bye?”
“I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is the next trip back will be for my funeral,” she said.
When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, “I wish you enough.” May I ask what that means?”
She began to smile. “That’s a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone.”
She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more.
“When we said ‘I wish you enough’ we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them”.
Then turning toward me, she shared the following, reciting it from memory.
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.
She then began to sob and walked away.

Angelique, I know change is sometimes hard but we need it at NetHugs. You may still access the old layout here:
https://nethugs.com/index-old.shtml
The link is also on the top right corner under “Old Layout”.

Please go back to the old format. And where have all our previous messages gone…..??????????? I used to read them now and then. It was comforting. Those messages contained part of my life. It was like looking at an album and experiencing the joys and sorrows of those times. MISS THEM AND LONELY HILL, WHERE ARE YOU? MISS YOU TOO
April 17, 2009 @ 4:43 am
thank u i love to see it really (love is like a rose).
April 12, 2009 @ 2:10 pm

Thanks.
April 10, 2009 @ 9:33 pm

April 9, 2009 @ 2:47 pm

April 9, 2009 @ 9:27 am

April 9, 2009 @ 9:21 am
It is as if we know it all, but the message is clearer now, this is just the truth about LOVE, thank God for this wonderful thing (LOVE). Thanks a lot too, We learn everyday.

Love is an attraction with external appeal, to begin with.
Then, it is an inner attraction, to go with.
Then, it is a harmony of Nature like this Rose –
unwilling to fade or wither in the right climate.
And the love builds beyond the grave!!
April 8, 2009 @ 8:08 pm
I agree with some others I don’t like the change in your format and the music don’t fit– but I do like the poem, come on guys get back to what ya had — why mess with perfection which is what ya had before–??
April 8, 2009 @ 2:21 pm
the cent of a rose is as pleasant like that of a pretty woman.
April 8, 2009 @ 9:33 am
true love comes from God.i love this poem is for people who love and forgive
April 8, 2009 @ 5:07 am
Love is of the heart, it is pure and forgive, the red petals of the flower show Love, for Love is Purity.
April 7, 2009 @ 7:15 pm
LOVE IS LIFE, NO LOVE NO LIFE……
TRUE LOVES ONLY FROM GOD.
April 7, 2009 @ 5:31 pm
I’ve changed the music to a more upbeat song. I hope you will like it.
April 7, 2009 @ 4:24 pm
Lots of water and love, without God as “in charge of your life”, NOTHING CAN SURVIVE. If you want to REALLY wish me a “Happy Birthday”, do not come to Florida, Bob. Be with your wife, BECKY, on HER BIRTHDAY and mine, 4/9.
April 7, 2009 @ 4:21 pm
I agree, “Love Is Like A Rose”…..It blooms for awhile, must be taken care of delicately w/lot of water and Love AND THEN IT DIES!!!!!!!! (unless it is “nurtured by our “God Above”)
April 7, 2009 @ 1:35 pm
A lovely on you’ve got there so full of life but the music is gloomy. It contradicts the bloomy nature of the poem. A second thought made me to understand the love of man can never be compared to the love of God. For the love of God does not break hearts. With the love of God one needs not watch for “thorny little stem” thus u don’t get stucked
April 7, 2009 @ 1:28 pm
Thank you baby, made my day.
I love you too, more than I can say.
April 7, 2009 @ 12:54 pm
The poem is fab’ Wow! but the music accompanying it is quite boring

i love the poem, its spicy and juicy. but the best love we can ever have is God’s love.it never ends. he never break hearts.
April 7, 2009 @ 6:48 am
The poetry is as beautiful as the rose itself,
Each word of the verse like the enchanting pearls of dew.
It is “LOVE” that makes everything around –
So sublime , so serene and so pretty too.
April 7, 2009 @ 6:33 am
Good poem serves my heart right;change the music though to match the beautiful words.
April 7, 2009 @ 5:55 am
