ScotT I appreciate you comments and the patriotic outlook you have about Memorial Day and the how the Military is still fighting to keep the United States of America Freedom intact. May GODs angels continue to watch over you forever, is my prayer. Anita.
Yes I imagine how use must feel, but those two days are to honor of all you that has fought for the Freedom of this United States of America.. May GODs angels continue to watch over all of OUR MILITARY and comfort their families forever, is my prayer.
The wounds have healed, the scars have faded ……they are barely visible now; but the memories still haunt me from time to time, people celebrate……they Bar B Q, they go to the beach, they drink too much beer…..I try to forget.
And now my youngest son who served in Iraq and Afganistan will becoming home, with scars of his own and memories he will try to forget.
I thank God every day that we came home.
The long Memorial weekend and November 11 are not my favorite days
That was truly a beautiful tribute to all of our Veterans from the many wars and for the Military Troops that are fighting for our Freedom even today. Scott your comment truly touched my heart, my heart very deeply, brought tears to my eyes and peace to my heart. During World War 2, I had an Uncle and three Cousins who were in the service. Uncle was a cook in the Army, two Cousins were in the Submarine division of the Navy and then one was in the Merchant Marines. They were all blessed by coming home safely. I always had some friends that fought during World War 2 and they came home safely too. I have a friend that was in the Marines during the Vietnam War, whom returned home with wounds that left shrapnel in his legs. Thank goodness the surgeries taken care of the situation. Scott I really appreciated the statement you made about your neighbor playing taps in the evening, when the weather permits. I place my right hand over my heart in Honor of OUR FLAG and will continue to pray for our Military Troops and their families. IN GOD WE TRUST FOREVER AND FOREVER Amen
This is awesome–thank you for providing…There’s a base near our home (JBLM) and many personnel who live in our neighborhood plant American flags in their front yard gardens, making the most beautiful & pleasant patriotic landscape & atmosphere this time of year. One neighbor–I have not identified him yet–on many afternoons somewhere between four and seven especially when it’s good weather plays over his loudspeaker ‘taps’ & when the sacred tones of the trumpet wafts softly through the air I stop to put my hand over my heart. We pray God’s hand of protection & peace cover all our service personnel and that those who have lost any loved one in serving will be comforted…
This is truly a wondeful teibute to all of foreign war veterans, the military troops and their families that out their fighting for the Freedom of America, which has been going on since George Washington and all the ones that fought to set us free here in America. I know how it feels to have loved ones fight for this country, as my uncle, cousins and friends fought in World War 2.
Beautiful. My husband served i th M C and 2brotherd in the Army. I thank god that they came home safe. I pray and thank all who served and are still serving to protect their family and their country. Gid blesd all
Let us now take a moment of silence and remember our fallen soldiers, their families, relatives and friends. Let us pray for those that have fought to set us free. Let us pray that all their sufferings, trials and tribulations weren’t done in vain for us. Let us pray that we learn from our fallen soldiers to get along with one another, that we don’t start our own wars here by fighting over petty nonsense. Let us pray that we will find compassion, love, courage in our hearts to not just our family but to strangers as well.
This was a beautiful, thought provoking video, and I personally want to thank you for sharing it with all of us. Have a beautiful, safe, Memorial Day everyone.
