See how well the giverment too care of our native people. There is no reason the tribes have been kept in poverty other than to make them dependent on the giverment. You watch, if a big oil/gas pool is found under reservation lands the government will not allow it to be recovered. Save the environment you know.
I wish we knew which tribes the Indians were from. They were such interesting people. My lineage was from the Shawnee Indians. Wish there were titles on the photos, too, to know where the locations were and a little about the towns, the mines, etc. Very interesting.
I have always been interested in the old days. Life was so very hard for the men and women. Women had to get married in order to have a home to live in! If you were a school teacher, you couldn’t even be a married woman. When I was a child, I always thought that I would have loved to live back then but as I grew older..no way!! Those poeple never had television, radios but then since they had never heard of these things, they couldn’t miss them. If only they could see how much life has changed since then! In just the past twenty years, things have changed so fast with computers, cell phones, cars and lot’s more things!! The medical needs that people got then couldn’t save lives the way they do now. I know I’m living in the right time!! Familys did communicate more back then and the children grew up with their parents around them all the time to teach them morals and values in life. Especially with their mothers. What really gets to me is if a man beat on his wife, he got away with it. You hardly ever hesrd of a divorce!!
It’s really something too look at old photographs and then realize how far we’ve come and still so far to go. This was definitely captured the beauty of nature and people.
LIKED LOOKING AT THE PICTURES OF “THE OLD WEST.” SOME OF MY ANCESTORS WERE EXPLORERS…
I MAY HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT SOME MY OWN ANCESTORS AND NOT KNOW IT…HI UNCLE LOU !!!
THAT WAS A “HARD” TIME THEN AND THEY THOUGHT THAT IT WAS “MODERN” IN THOSE DAYS.
ON THE VERY LAST PICTURE, IN THE MIDDLE UPPER LEFT, I SEE A PROFILE OF A DOG’S HEAD…
DO YOU SEE IT??? THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES…
