I love this man and this song,Johnny was a real patriot who loved this country. He gave us many great songs,this was.the best. Hope to meet him in heaven some day.

Nobody tells it like it is like Johnny Cash…..”The Ragged Old Flag ” is about the most patriotic songs I’ve ever heard… I don’t believe there is one veteran who would hesitate for a second to serve again under our stars and stripes…. You can look at other flags around the world, but I don’t believe any other shares the honor, respect, and dignity that is felt in the hearts of our citizens and patriots. We fought for freedom…and WON… in 1776….We established a constitution, and have remained free under Old Glory for 244 years …. If we ever lose it, it will be from within …. and you will see the last bastion of freedom fade from this earth. … God Bless America and her flag …

This poem and it’s beautiful narration brought tears to my eyes. My best friend is a veteran of Vietnam. I’m an octogenarian now and still hold with pride in my heart the ones who made the life I live in freedom possible.
GOD BLESS THEM ALL AND GOD BLESS AMERICA! May our flag long wave o’er the home of the brave!

Best song ever as to what it and this Country stands for. Yes, Janet, wish, too, that today it was held to the honor it deserves. This is recorded on one of Cash’s CDs. I play it often. God bless all our Veterans today and every day.
