Sainsbury’s OFFICIAL Christmas Ad
This year’s Christmas ad from Sainsbury’s – Christmas is for sharing. Made in partnership with The Royal British Legion, it commemorates the extraordinary events of Christmas Day, 1914, when the guns fell silent and two armies met in no-man’s land, sharing gifts – and even playing football together.
The chocolate bar featured in the ad is on sale now at Sainsbury’s. All profits (50p per bar) will go to The Royal British Legion and will benefit our armed forces and their families, past and present.

The real reason for Christmas has been lost now and we must bring it back by seeing stories like this and also remembering the Christmas Story as told in The Bible.

We really don’t stop today to take time to remember what freedom is really all about. Most of our children probably haven’t been exposed to our early history enough to give it a second thought. In our time of unrest, not only with our government and the policies they put in front of us, but with the war and unnecessary taking of lives by ISIS , with the unnecessary deaths that we are hearing about here at home at this Christmas season. We should once again take time , encourage the ones we love to take a stand for peace, help to spread it, not anger. Remind our people everywhere of the lives lost over the years of us being a country, what was fought for, don’t let anyone forget. Keep everyone free from fear, especially our young lives who will someday take our place in time, MERRY CHRISTMAS

If this does not bring tears to your eyes – nothing will.
This truly happened, my father was there in the British Royal Army Medical Corps. I am 85 and as a little girl in the 30’s I remember my father telling us about it.
