I would rather have my forever friend my dog as my friend then my human friend as a friend it is what it is..All God’s creatures on the earth in the seas up in the sky will always be more worthy then man..we abuse kill hate what God has given us..and they give nothing but unconditional love and forgiveness back..we could learn so much from them but we won’t we aren’t capable of that kind of love for we choose not have it.

All reactions are fantastic, I grew up afraid of dogs, my oldest brother would sic them on me whenever I went to the “out house” I would be crying, and my Mom would come out and make. him put the dogs up. But I grew up with a great fear of dogs.
However, my daughter had a Dalmation, and one day I was at her home, and SPOTZ came into the computer room, and stuck his head between my arm and my body, He won me over, and when he passed, my son, my daughter, and all were on the phone and we all cried when he was put to sleep. It was so difficult for all of us, and we believe in the “Rainbow Bridge” and know we will see SPOTZ again. God Bless all dog lovers, I am so sorry it took me so long to get over my fear. My son has two ShihTzu and they love me as much as I love them, well almost anyway! LOL. If I spent the night, I will sleep on a recliner, and Maddux is generally on my head, and Homer (homerun) is between my legs sleeping. They are wonderful. I love them Mucho!

Hazel, so glad you were able to overcome your fear. Dogs are so loving and really don’t ask for much. Lost my last one, of 14 years, two years ago. Now at age 80 I figured that was it. Until I made eye contact with a little guy at our local shelter! He was tossed out of a car and he was not a pretty sight. Has a number of health issues, one being seizures, but we bonded, so whatever the outcome, how long we are together, well, I will let God decide that. In just a few short weeks he has been such a blessing. Wouldn’t trade him for anything!

There was actually a movie made about Hachiko. It will truly put a “limp in your throat and some tears in your eyes.” What loyalty and love our dogs give to us, we are so unworthy but at the same time grateful to have such wonderful dogs in our lives. After losing my husband, my two dogs were my psychiatrist. I would pick them up, cry and talk to them and they would lick my tears away. I was blessed to have them in my life to help me with this tragic loss.

The greatest dog story of all time has to be that of Hachiko , an Akita from Japan. Hachiko was owned by a Japanese businessman who worked in the city. Every day Hachiko would go to the train station and wait for his master. One day the master had a heart attack at work and never came home. For 9 years Hachiko would go to the station every single day and would sit and wait. Everyone knew him and in fact, when Hachiko died the townspeople had a statue of him made and placed at the station. If you want to shed a tear, Google Hachiko.

I now have my 5th dog, a beautiful, sweet rescue dog, 45 pounds and a cuddler, who even though she has been with me 7 years (she is almost 10) and I am almost 66 and have not worked since I rescued her. She still sticks to me like glue like I may abandon her, although I usually am not gone for more than 4 hours at a time. I adored my other dogs and it was so hard to let them go, but this one is so special. I also believe in my heart all of our pets that have meant so much will be in Heaven when we arrive. God created this Universe, us, and our dogs, so nothing is impossible with Him. Heaven is a joyful place and if our pets were meaningful, important to us and made us happy, I definitely believe my precious pets will be waiting for me. I have told my current, special rescued companion that I will never leave her and she will always be with me. I will have have her cremated when the time should come (unlike my other dear pets). My loved ones know that when my time comes my precious companion’s ashes are to be cremated with me. My precious Holly WILL be with me forever. Thank you for this touching poem.

I have known thousands of people; and, like myself, some were flawed. Many let me down, disappointed me, lied about me or otherwise proved they were not “true” friends. In my 70 odd years, I have had many dogs. They all loved me without condition, were my close companions…..and, when they left, they left me in tears, at their loss. One received a medal from Vietnam, one wanted to drive my truck; and, the list of their antics goes on. After my open heart surgery, one wouldn’t leave my side, day or night. I have never owned a dog that was dishonest, selfish or self-centered. Jim is right, dog is God’s personal representative to a needy world.

Just Beautiful! Made me cry. I have so many friends who have lost loved ones, that ask, “What will I do”?
I tell them, go rescue a little dog.
When my daughter died, My heart was crushed, my world was so empty, thought I would never make it
through a another day. Then I had the opportunity to rescue two little dogs that had been rescued twice
before. We were a perfect match. Now I am writing a childrens book about two little rescue dogs that
came in and Rescued a Gramdmother. It is hard to describe the love between the little dogs and me.
They are my heart and even let me read our Daily Devotionals to them. We are a Family!!!!
Thanks for this uplifting description of my two little puppies. Perfect.
They love me if I don’t get my hair combed or take a shower. Even if I am in the flower bed covered in dirt.
They love me!!! in spite of myself. And I am so happy with them.
Thanks for telling the world what they are missing!!!
With HIS Blessings and Mine & Rufus & Lily

That was the most wonderful description of why God made a dog. I loved it. Extra special and thank you so much for reminding humankind how special dogs are . The person who composed this had so much love and was inspired to have written it and to share it with the world.
