Softly I go was new to me, loved this narrated by Elvis.

It reminds me of when my husband asked me if I was coming along (unknown to me he already knew he was going to heaven) and when I asked him, Where?, he enthusiastically threw up his arms (while he lay on his back) and said loudly (while he had only been able to speak softly), “To Heaven!”. Once I reassured him that I would join him when the Lord determined “my time” for going to heaven and I asked him to be prepared to show me around when I got there, then he was happy! This was all he wanted–for me to assure him that I wanted to be with him in heaven ASAP, when my time comes. He then smiled and shut his eyes and went back to resting in bed. He died several days later and I intend to keep my word and see him in heaven as soon as the Lord calls me up there to join them in heaven.

Beautiful, didn’t know the story behind this remarkable song, and so poignant as I watch my husband dying from Alzheimer’s!

So sorry, Jan. My heart goes out to you as I experienced the same as what you are now going through. Heartbreaking. Best to you.
