Something in the Air
Come and take a walk with me.
There is something in the air,
That makes me want to take some time,
To be with you and share.
The green of Summer passed quickly by,
And now the Autumn hue,
Has changed the look of everything,
As we look around and enjoy the view.
Time with a friend renews our hearts,
As we catch up on things we’ve done.
And that special feeling in the air,
Brings back memories of all our fun.
So, let’s try our best to make a vow,
Just between me and you,
That we will try to take more walks like this,
And share a laugh or two.
God blessed us with a friendship,
That goes back for years and years.
And some of the things we talk about
Bring us laughter, and some bring tears.
So, just remember as we part,
That I’ll be looking forward to,
That special feeling in the air,
That always makes me think of you.

This is so beautiful. Autumn, my birth month, reminds me of a time of maturity. A time of reconcilliation and reasoning. A wonderful time to celebrate life long friendships we still hold dear.

This is truly beautiful. The poetry, music, and picture. My husband of only three years married October 21st, 2006. We took many walks together, Fall was our favorite time of year. And although I lost him after only three years of marriage, I look outside in the Fall foliage and cherish the memories of being with him and marrying him during the Fall season. Thank you for letting me remember him in a special way, my heart by each passing day, but I know he’s looking down at me and enjoying this special time of year with me here.

Karen,
I loved the poem, something I would have written as I, too write poetry
It is my time of the year and where ever I am I go back to that place I love.
I met my husband, now gone, in the Autumn 55 years ago and I take him back in
memory each year. I am ready to make that trip again to my ole Kentucky Home.

I am the author of this poem and you have blessed my heart. I just wanted to thank you for telling me about you and your friend. You see, the person that I wrote this for has been my friend for abot 30 years now. I Praise God that she is still in good health. I, like you and your friend, cannot take those long walks either anymore. However, God has blessed me with His wonderful Word and I know that one day, we will all, who believe, walk the wonderful colorful roads of Heaven and we will be forever in His presence and in His abiding peace and love. I pray God’s blessings upon you and your friend. Always, Karen

This poem inspires a longing to take a walk under the fall foliage with a very dear friend I’ve known for 55 years. Neither of us can venture outside now due to health problems.
I’m hoping my special friend will read this poem too.
