The Ghost Train (30 pics)
In his new photo series, “The Canadian: Ghost Train Crossing Canada”, Jeff Friesentravels across Canada taking photos of the surrounding landscape, in which he artfully places this vintage toy train to make it look like part of the picture.

First, I love trains. I once worked for the B&O RR before it merged with the C&O RR. I am not disparaging trains, but I feel the (toy) train in these beautiful scenic photos had a distracting influence on ones concentration. At least it did on mine. I found myself looking for the train rather than looking at the landscapes. I also found that the train was always in focus while the scene was almost an afterthought and more often than not, out of focus. I actually had to review the photos a couple of times in order to really see the pastures and forests etc. I wish the photographer would have been more dedicated to the Canadian Landscape than the (toy) train.

WOW and WOW. What beautiful scenery. It looks so very real. I love train travel and travel by train as much as possible.
If only this was real, what a joy would be to see all the scenery passes you by.
A real train trip is to Seattle. Passing through the Pungent Sound is truly a
sight to see.
Thank you so much for sharing this.

Another comment from me….I usually don’t comment twice on these issues, but, I went back and reread what Jeff Freinstein did, he actually took a toy train, placed the train on tracks (maybe not on tracks all the time as I look closer) some looked like they were on a log, and traveled throughout Canada, and brought this toy train and tracks with him on this particular trip. I wonder does he do this type of artwork on his travels? It takes time to set up a toy train on tracks, and it looks as though at some times the train was moving. Am I hallucinating or what? Wow, this is more beautiful with the mind that this man portrayed with his thoughts. Thank you really so much for sharing this. Quite different than most things we have on here.

Wow, I truly enjoyed this. This is almost like the huge “chocolate train” that I read about the other day. But apparently you can’t eat this train, loved the background on this train. Especially where in some places it was difficult to see at times.
