The Window
A great note for all to read; it will take just 30 seconds to read this and change your thinking.
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.
The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.
The man in the other bed began to live, for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm-in-arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.
As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn’t hear the band – he could see it in his mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.
Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, “Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.”
Epilogue:
There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can’t buy.”Today is a gift, that’s why it is called the present.”
The origin of this letter is unknown, but it brings good luck to everyone who passes it on. Do not keep this letter. Do not send money. Just forward it to your friends to whom you wish good luck..

ALTHOUGH MY VIEW IS BLOCKED BY SO MANY TOWERING SOUTHERN PINES, I AM ABLE TO SEE THE FULL MOON AFTER MIDNIGHT FROM MY BAY WINDOW IN THE LIVING ROOM. MY OTHER WINDOWS LOOK OUT ONTO THE PATHWAY, BUILDING NEXT DOOR AND THE FOREST FLOOR. WHEN I WAS LIVING IN THE APARTMENT UPSTAIRS, I HAD A GOOD VIEW OF THE BIRDS AND SQUIRRELS. (SOUTHERN PINES DO NOT HAVE LOW HANGING BRANCHES, THIS IS WHY I COULD SEE THE BIRDS AND SQUIRRELS BETTER FROM THE 2ND FLOOR APARTMENT. SPEAKING OF LIVING IN AN APARTMENT WITH A GOOD VIEW, BEFORE MOVING HERE, I HAD A THIRD FLOOR APARTMENT IN ANOTHER COMPLEX. ONE DAY I WAS ENJOYING THE VIEW FROM THE PICTURE WINDOW FROM MY COUCH AND WAS SURPRISED TO SEE A SMALL LIZARD WHO RESEMBLED THE GEICO GECKO, WALKING ACROSS THE GLASS!! HE WAS JOINED BY ANOTHER LIZARD WHO TURNED OUT TO BE HIS GIRLFRIEND! SHE WAS COLOR OF DIRT, DARK BROWN. HE WAS SPRING GREEN WITH A CREAM BELLY. THEY SET UP HOUSEKEEPING ON THE COMMUNAL BALCONY AT THE END OF THE HALL AND THE BALCONY AT THE END OF THE 2ND FLOOR HALLWAY WHERE THERE WERE A LOT OF POTTED PLANTS. THERE WAS ONE POTTED PLANT ON THE 3RD FLOOR. AS THE WEATHER WARMED I WOULD GO OUTSIDE TO SIT ON THE BALCONY WHERE THE MALE LIZARD WAS SUNNING HIMSELF. AS SOON AS HE WARMED UP, HE INCHED DOWN THE RAILING TO THE SECOND FLOOR AND BEGAN POSTURING AND FLASHING HIS CHIN FLAP. SHORTLY THEREAFTER HIS GIRLFRIEND CLIMBED UP TO MY BALCONY, THE 2 GOT TOGETHER AND BEGAN MATING. THIS WENT ON FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS!! I WAS AMAZED AT THEIR CREATIVITY AND THE MATING POSITIONS THEY CHOSE. (ONE OF THEIR BABIES WANDERED AWAY AND HAD ENTERED MY APARTMENT AND WAS HIDING NEXT TO MY WICKER STORAGE CHEST. I WOULDN’T HAVE NOTICED IF THE BABY HADN’T MOVED.

God works in many mysterious ways. He shows his wisdom by helping other to help those in need.
Here one needed to see outside a window… And there was someone who could not see but knew
what would be pleasing to his roommate to hear…. Sometimes we take forgranted that those that
can not see with their eyes and see with their mind and heart.

Just close your eyes and you will see what you want to see. Think beautiful thoughts and you will see them. Delete the dark thoughts and start over again with the beautiful thoughts.

Its true that when we seek out a friend, we should be mindful of what we are looking for. The best friend we can have is that who, despite all odds can still create an atmosphere of love, care and encouragement for us when we are down.THIS IS PURE LOVE.

A very, very good story, and makes one think deep into ones situation and to allow yourself to deal with your own crisis differently, on how one persons view from a window can be!!!!
