Today I Smiled
Today I smiled, and all at once
Things didn’t look so bad.
Today I shared with someone else,
A little bit of hope I had.
Today I sang a little song,
And felt my heart grow light.
I walked a happy little mile,
With not a cloud in sight.
Today I worked with what I had,
And longed for nothing more,
And what had seemed like only weeds,
Were flowers at my door.
Today I loved a little more,
And complained a little less.
And in the giving of myself,
I forgot my weariness.

I smile a lot. God gave me a good life. I have a wonderful husband ,grown children who are good to me. I’m blessed and thankful.

Dear Elizabeth that old saying is one I hold most dear, because it truly has worked for me. My dear deceased husband of 26 years ago, always was a very friendly man, besides a smile he always gave a wave to friends, as well as strangers. That is kind of life that GOD wants us to live, by reaching out to others, so they will be witness to and learn to walk with GOD each day.

Have you ever heard of the saying = “Smile and the whole world smiles with you ” ???
I do believe it is true… Try it…
When I walk by someone, I give a gentle smile and their faces light up with a responding grin…
Then their world and mine seems brighter… It works…

Today I shared some of my poems with a young man who came to my door with wishes I could do more. Today I sent a greeting to friends near and far telling of the bright star that shone bright when Christ was born on Christmas morn. Today I wish to share the good news that God gave his only son salvation to bring to sinful man a wonderful gift that was God’s plan. Now I have life eternal because I BELIEVE he died for me. Thanks for the inspiration this wonderful poem gave. 🙂 Jane

Praise the Lord for the great smiles that changes ones life and with trust in his word these smiles are passed on to another loving friend, family member, or a loving parent. This is such a great verse makes us realize that what we have is usually more than enough. When we look around there is usually some worse off than we are and a smile can mean so very much to someone who is lonely or hurting.
