You can drive down the Highway or Fly like the Wind or Ride down that long shiny rail but Time’s right behind you like a Houndog that’s hot on your trai ! But we’re all in the same boat so try to hold on and ride it to the end of the line but Time’s right behind you…..everyone Runs Out of Time ! Time is a Monster that lives in our clock it heartless and shows No Remorse consuming our Future as we fight these 100 year Wars !!
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1,2 A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, and time to pluck what is planted: A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up: A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away, and a time to gather; A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to gain, and a time to lose; A time to keep, and a time to throw away; A time to tear, and a time sew; A time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, ant a time to hate; A time of war, and a time of peace. But the most important time in one’s life is to read John 3:16 to accept and believe in. And all God’s children said, so be it !
Chee, thanks for sharing this beautiful poem in such a beautiful way. As we age we reflect on what has been smiling at the memories. Time seems to pass so swiftly we hardly know a day has begun when it ends yet we long to keep the pace eventhough our steps are slow. So many times I have felt these thoughts. God bless sweet friend. Though tears come yet still I smile. 🙂 Jane
I AM 81 1/2 YEARS OLD, I’LL BE DANGED IF I GIVE UP… LIFE IS SO INTERESTING AND TOMORROW IS ANOTHER CHANCE
TO DO BETTER… I LIVE A SIMPLE LIFE AND I LIKE IT… I BELIEVE IN THE ALMIGHTY GOD AND PRAY MORNING AND AT NIGHT… MAYBE THE “BODY” IS NOT AS IT USE TO BE, BUT KEEP YOUR MIND ACTIVE AND HAVE FAITH !!!
SMILE, EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T WANT TO… REMEMBER, LOTS OF PEOPLE (CHILDREN INCLUDED) HAVE NOT THE BLESSINGS THAT YOU HAVE AND THEY HAVE A MUCH WORSE LIFE THAN YOU HAVE… BLESSINGS TO ALL OF YOU…
KEEP THE FAITH AND SMILE !!! Elizabeth W.
Very well and wise is everything you said…and you don’t know how eager I am to follow this…
But …I can’t…not now…and you’ll understand…
For you, my friend…I prepared myself more than 6 years…now I have an angagement to an other one…
Tomorrows . . . . What’s in the store for me? What’s awaits for me? When my life is full of trouble, full of worries, is there still Tomorrow? My heart full of pain, life seems so unfair, is there still Tomorrow? God Knows . . . I cried many times praying and hoping one day, when tomorrow comes, I could serve my GOD with a happy heart.
love this poem of your so, so much; as we grow older we wonder sometimes what is my purpose in life now that I have had a wonderful marriage with my wonderful spouse for 45 years, have had 2 beautiful children, a girl and a boy and have 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandaughter. but it is in these later years that you DO realise that God has been with you all along. I was so blessed in my life so far and want to continue till the day that my savior bring me home with him.
In marriage when life is about your needs and not the needs of your beloved and family, nothing flourishes.
It always should be about us, not just one person.
Yes, congratulations to make it to 89 with such a healthy and beautiful perspective on life that has brought you to these golden years. My Mother lived to be almost 100, surviving breast cancer and a hip replacement in her mid 80’s. She has always revered a deep faith in Christ. May God continue to bless you.
Very nice and very true…
When I was young I wanted to grow up …very fast…to be independent of my parents…to know the greate love etc.\ but now …with all my memories and all my past feelings I need to approach more and more to God, to His will…and I can say …now I found the real life…, the real love and I am so happy…I don’t want to change anything…
Congrats on being 89 yrs. young Anita! I am 57 yrs. young and I am having the time of my life with my 63 yrs. young husband. God has been good to us and we have friends that share in several of our adventures together. Our very close dear friends are 66 yrs. young.
What strong beautiful message. One Day Time, certainly what GOD has planned for us. Live it to its’s fullest and let tomorrow take care of itself. This way we are able to build great memories of love, happiness and have peace in our hearts. Now that I am 89 years young at heart and slightly older in other places, I am thankful that GOD has allowed me to reach my Goldne Years.

Simply exquisite! We should hold tight to those wonderful memories of love, as we enter the Autumn years to warm the soul. Fragile, refined moments in time when the journey seemed so long yet we finally arrive to our true hearts.

Yesterday is dead and gone, its a cancelled cheque. TOMORROW is a promissory note, it may never come.
Today is an available cash, make a wise of it.
