Mary you certainly made the right choice and it always pays to be honest. I was blessed with unconditional love with my loving husband for over forty years, when GOD f home felt it was time to take him for eternity.

The word ‘if’ suggests that it is NOT unconditional love.

This is lovely until the last two lines of the last phrase with the word IF contradicting the whole point. Love unconditionally should not be conditional on unconditional love. Christ loves even those who don’t love Him.

There’s no such great love that God gave us, Its the only unconditional love from him. if one sacrifices for love,,you are already doing the same thing Jesus has. thus, love one another os as God loves us.

The best i have ever recieved is the true love of my parents,the God unconditinal love and that is the best i can give, without love there is no life, it is the essence and the beauty of living.If we give unconditional love, war, hated,racisim will stop, we will live longer as God want us to…………i love all my friends…even those i can not see or touch…..your mails and greetings touch my life in a specia way and i feel loved always….thank you so much for loving me the way i am.

This is a beautiful poem, it must be shared to all the ones we love and have loved us. Christ came to earth to save us.. God loves us so much, despite all our faults, sent His Son to earth to die for us and take away our sins.

this poem is true. God loved us even when we were yet sinners.John 3:16 This is unconditional love. And His love continues to be unconditional. His love doesn’t depend on our response to Him. He loves us because He choose to love us. In that same way we shall love others.

Love is all about kindess, caring and being honest to one and other. Love is a feeling that one will ve’ for one and other, AS IS SAID, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST LOVES US AND DIE FOR OUR SINS.Unconditional love is a love that one will be into without thinking of the circomstances, and he/she is ready for what ever may come out of it.

My experiences in life thus far have taught me we all long for unconditional love but it only comes from God himself. For people, although created in God’s image, love conditionally. I myself want to love unconditionally but have yet to master that fine art. It is a condition of this fallen world I believe. It is certainly something to strive for but until Christ returns I doubt we will ever hit the mark as we are conditioned by society to be self centered.
I know God wants us to experience the best in life, and
in all areas of our life. I have personally found that God himself is the only one to completely satisfy our longing for love and acceptance. It is the only love I have ever known to be pure and true and not self serving in any way. To know his love is the greatest gift you can ever receive or share with another human being. It is the only love that can satisfy one’s soul.
My suggestion is to never look for it or expect it from another human being and allow God to be the one to fill that need in our heart. The Word of God teaches that we love him because he first loved us … (again that is conditional – just our nature) It is truly amazing how loving he is. He loves the unlovely, undeserving and ungrateful. I pray we can all learn to become more like him and less like our natural self which instictively is selfish, if we would be honest enough with ourselves.
Let’s become a praying nation again, and pray that we have the mind of Christ so we may learn to love better. Let’s ask God to change our focus from ourselves to others … What a more beautiful world this would become. Jesus himself taught us to pray that Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. When we master loving unconditionally – then it will be on earth as it is in heaven!

Yes. unconditional is just that. truly and completely.To me, God is love and love is God. we are told that we must love our neighbors as ouselves. That means that we should be as concerned about their wellbeing as we are for our own. This is not one being but as many as should come into our fold. For god hath given us any that enter our fold. LOVE!!! UNCONDITIONAL!!! UNMEASUREABLE!!! UNFATHOMABLE!!! ETERNAL!!! EVERLASTING!!!FOREVER!!!EVERYBODY!!! AS FAR AS THE EAST IS TO THE WEST KIND CARING LOVE!!! Dear Dana Thank you for such a beautiful poem and I know what you meant and “IF” in the last line… is I pray too you love me back the same way my love.:) God gives and God takes away. In order to have a unconditional love for both people it only comes from one place and that is God. Life here is such a mystery and most of us get married long before we have grown into our maturity with God and only God knows our hearts and who we are. We as Christians are trusting souls and we know God tells us to always listen to Him but often times we fail and listen to our own selfish self, and then we are trapped into a relationship apart from God. The most important thing I have learned as I have studied Gods words is to have this kind of unconditional love is both people have to have a heart for God and God has to be first and then yes God does bless us with uncondional love for each other. But we ourselves cannot put conditions on love for all love comes from God and when we (couple) come together and love God more then ourselves or anyone and have respect, honor and obey Him and his commandments, then yes we can have this kind of unconditional love that only God can Bless us with. God loves us very much and it makes Him so happy when two of His children find each other and are True Christians, love Him, each other and others as we are on this journey here each day to become more like Jesus as we grow in our maturity with God.
There is a reason that God warned His people in the Bible to stay with their own kind when choosing someone to marry. To know if a man or woman loves you then they should have to go through God to get you. We all want love, give love and need love, but too many times when we do not listen to Gods instructions on finding true love, then we only set ourselves us for failure, pain and sorrow.
Yes many say they are Christians but when they do not show the love of Jesus in their heart and lives, then they are only fooling themselves, and others.
We watch movies of screen actors everyday and sadly but true, we have a lot of people actors saying they are Christians, and yes can fool all of us, when we do not listen to that small still voice of God saying run this is not the one for you, but we choose to listen to the enemy saying…oh this person is so right for you and then we will suffer from allowing them into our lives, for light cannot live with darkness without being in a battlefield.
To know if it is Gods love is to know Gods words of truth and His love never fails, but most of us often times have gone through Hell to see what God was trying to tell us to begin with and that is run away from the enemy who is so clever,smooth, loving, kind, and yes can also get a Oscar Award for his/her acting skills in making us believe they are of Gods love, when it was only a game with them, and eventually destroy us if we do not get away from them. True love does not make you cry all of the time or make you lonely, or make you feel trapped, embarrass, or ashamed.
True Love is like your poem unconditional and of God.
Just my 2cents worth because I have had both kinds of love and know. I love God, myself, and others and pray for all of those who are loss.

A very beautiful verse. To many times people put conditions on love. It should be unconditional at all times. The last part of the verse is not putting a condition on love all it is saying is I want to be loved regardless of hurt or anger as I love you regardless of hurt or anger.

The big “if” at the end denotes a condition and makes the whole poem invalid. One does not love IF someone loves us back. That in itself is a condition of our love.

I think this peom is absolutely great……..it depicts all the ways in which unconditional touches us ,,,,,,it is how I have always wanted to be loved by my husband,,,,,,,,,It IS THE WAY Jesus loves me,,,,,,and I thank Him for that everyday!!!! I do agree with Vonnie though , that the word “if” should be changed to “and” in the last line,,,,,,,,taking ALL doubts away……….

I loved this verse, until I got to the end, where it says, “if unconditionally you’ll love me”.
The way I read it…..that puts a condition on loving that person, .
