Elvis sang for then ,now and will continue to remain reigning for the future , to entertain us folks , who r lucky to have made it to four scores and over . I personally love all of Elvis’s songs as a matter of fact, I enjoy listening to all country and western singers, but there r a few ,whose words and voices remain indelible on my mind ,since I can relate to them.

That wonderful voice silenced at such a young age. Love his rendition of this song, as only he could sing it. Saw him in a concert in early 70s and what a show! When he was ready to sing his last song, the audience was requested to remain seated until Elvis exited the stage. We were all in such awe – I did not see one person standing until we were told…..”Elvis has left the building!!” Amazing performance. Never to be forgotten.

There is no other voice like The King. I loved his songs like this and his gospel music. They displayed his range and sound so perfectly.

It was over. He said it would never work. I couldn’t believe our love was only a Summer Love.
And, no, I never saw him again.

I know I have heard that song before, but at the time it came out, I wasn’t listening to the radio as much as I listened to records. I was a teenager (14) in NJ when Elvis was so popular and so was Johnny Mathis. My best friend Sue was so crazy about Elvis and I spent a lot of time at her house, especially after I moved to Baltimore in 1958 (age 15) After that I didn’t think about Elvis much and by the seventies my favorite was still Johnny Mathis. Just now as I listened to that song, I cried all through it. In the 45 years since it came out, it has been time for so many to go.
In the last decade I have come back to being an Elvis fan, but I don’t have that song on CD. It is certainly beautiful.

The voice of Elvis just gives me a tender heart. I could listen to him over and over…..and fall in love over and over again. I never got to see him but I don’t think anyone could ever sing like him. RIP Elvis and thank you for leaving us your beautiful songs of grave and love !
