Yesterday When I Was Young – Roy Clark
In the United States, the best-known version was recorded by country music performer Roy Clark. His version became his biggest hit up to that time on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart, peaking at No. 9 in August 1969, and indeed, it became his only top 40 pop hit, peaking at No. 19. Clark performed the song at Mickey Mantle’s funeral in 1995, at Mantle’s personal request. What did you think of this 1969 memorable song from Roy Clark? I can not NOT listen when this song and entertainer comes up. Wonderful message to these words. (When I was young!) Pushing 87 years and still love to hear the good music and great singers then.

Awesome, just like all of Roy’s songs. He is so blessed to be so talented. He can sing great and play many different instruments. My favorite is his super banjo music and I loved Hee Haw!

I remember this song from years ago, and have always liked it. There is much truth in these words. Roy Clark was a great entertainer, especially remember for the TV show “Hee Haw.”

Too wonderful for any words I could put together. It is sort of like scripture– meant for the soul.

Roy Clark understood the message his songs brought.
We live each time of our lives with the joy of living.
Make every day a time toward the end, our ultimate goal…ETERNITY.

Truly Beautiful to say the least. How I love this as it’s so very true. How fast the days have flown, and they go faster as each day passes,so live, love and be happy as no one knows how much time we have on this earth, only the Almighty.

I always enjoyed listening to Roy Clark. Old age is catching up with him as he was not able to move around freely at the last concert that I was at he did not make an after show appearance.
