You Can’t Go Home
“For those who have moved away from the towns they used to live, and have been away for many years, you might be surprised what that town looks like today if you went back. In her poem, “You Can’t Go Home” by Tamara Hillman, she tells the story of her going back to her hometown. What awaited her? What did she see? What did she think? This video tells the story.” –Steve Politte

This was ‘just as’ Sad, as it was Beautiful. Sad because I used to Try and go back home.. to my past, to my all familiar places that meant so much to me in my youth. But it is all gone now. And, so are the people I loved. But the Mind and the Heart is something else.. it keeps Everything.. Every place, and Everyone, just as it was.. just as They were. And I Can go back and relive it all, and to Be with the ones that I love, as often as I’d like there, as often as I need to. But yes, in all reality, although this was beautiful, it saddned me too and I cried. And because, if IS True. You Cannot go “Home.”

Just beautiful. I can relate to all of this as I was born in a small country town and it has certainly shaped me into being the person I am today. Those towns and the people are incredible and you can travel the world but you cannot beat the warmth and welcoming you will find in a small country town. I still have family in my hometown so it is lovely when I go home for a visit and just about everyone remembers who I am, love it. Thank you for sharing and God Bless.
