As Autumn Comes a Drifting…
[slideshow id=70]
Silent tiptoes summer off the nature stage;
Quiet as a baby’s breathing while asleep.
With nary a fanfare, it is gone, with time did age,
We’ve only memories made of it to keep.
In withheld mood of great anticipation,
We now wait for the Glory time of year.
The nights are getting cool, we feel elation,
As Autumn comes a-drifting, it’s almost here.
With cooler nights and lowered heat, it‘s coming;
Subtle signs of Autumn’s presence appear.
Soon wood smoke will be smelt as it goes drifting,
As sure a sign I know, that it is here.
The downhill slide to Christmas, that is Autumn,
For we all know that soon there will be snow.
First, there comes the blanket laying all around,
Of leaves, and many colors they will show.
The pumpkins spread out all along the roadways,
In country, that’s a sure sign of the times.
Like big, huge balls of orange, color all ablaze,
The grocery stores more crowded with their lines.
The smells of baking come in through the windows,
Now open for the cool breeze to come through.
As Autumn comes a-drifting, everybody knows,
God’s crayons are sharpened, coloring to do.

The Autumn Leaves are just a clue of what’s available in God’s Heaven, – for the Eye has not Seen, nor has the Mind conceived of the Glory that awaits those who call upon His name. To God be the Glory of All you See..

How breathtaking Autumn is… GOD sure is a fantastic painter… The colors are so uplifting…
It is funny to see the birds nests in the trees where before the leaves hid them… The sky is
so clear and pretty… Great poem and pictures in this email… Thanks…

This is an awesome poem which I enjoyed very much. Fall is around the bend and I can tell by the chilly wind and the fallen leaves which makes me believe winter cannot be far away. Jane

This is an extremely breathtaking poem. Reminiscent of the early days of poetry. Linda, you have a gift of
the pen that few in this day and age could ever possess. Continue with your writings as they are one of
the greatest gifts you give the world from you own heart. God bless.
