The Excitement of Santa

The month of December is finally here
Decorations and lights can be seen everywhere
People are busy getting ready for the holidays
Childrens eyes light up in anxious dismay.

A happy time full of smiles and joy
For all children, every little girl and boy
Everyone trying their best, to be good as gold
Because Santa has a naughty list, they’ve been told.

Many letters addressed to the North Pole depart
Marked Special Delivery, written from a childs heart
All to Santa, who is held close and dear
Mrs. Clause and some of his reindeer.

They talk for weeks about the big day
That Santa and his helpers load up his sleigh
They wait in anticiaption for Christmas Eve
For the gifts from Santa, that he will leave.

Christmas concerts are held everywhere, full of Joy
For all to watch, so sit back and enjoy
Christmas parades march through every town
Childrens smiles everywhere can be found.

By the time Christmas Eve finally gets here
The excitement for most is hard to bare
Socks are carefully hung, cookies and milk left out
All for Santa, beyond any doubt.

Without any complaints, all children rush to bed
And listen quietly, for Santa and his sled
Eventually all fall into dreamland, fast asleep
And into the house, Santa quietly creeps.

In the morning, all children rush to the tree
Laughing and smiling, all jumping with glee
Happiness is here, at least for today
After all, Santa was here, It’s Christmas Day!
