I, too, had Polio but wasn’t as crippled as Paul. I got sick in 1949 with both legs & my left arm paralyzed. I regained the use of my limbs because of physical therapy but I’m much weaker than a normal person. Polio affects muscles all over your body. Breathing is difficult, among many other things. I’ve tried to act as normally as possible. I got married & had 3 children & I worked most of my adult life. Polio just made it harder. I am now 78 years old & I’m getting weaker by the day. Like Paul, I say never give up- keep pushing. Force yourself to do things. Will power is a wonderful thing!! My heart breaks for Paul. Living in an iron lung is a horrible fate, but he has not let that stop him. I struggle every day to do & act “normally.”

Paul, Joyce and all that were affected by polio, such great spirits and faith you have. Amazing story and yes, what could Paul have accomplished, minus polio. God had other plans. We don’t always understand, but there is a plan. God bless you all.
