Welcome to My World – Jim Reeves
The most famous version was performed by country music singer Jim Reeves, whose version was included on his 1962 album A Touch of Velvet. Reeves’ version, styled in the then-prevalent Nashville Sound-style, was released as a single in early 1964, and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart that spring, and also gained sporadic airplay on pop radio stations, reaching the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. The song would become one of Reeves’ last major hits in his lifetime, as he was killed in a plane crash on July 31, 1964. What did you think? My second time to hear Jim Reeves sing this old song and it really brings peace to my heart. It have tears of joy in my eyes and so thankful that JESIUS CHRIST sacreficed HIMSELF to save us from our sins that we may be blessed with life eternal. When I listen to this song I envision a pregnant woman who is expecting a baby or who has just delivered one. I don’t just hear a song about going to heaven! It is beautiful!

It doesn’t matter how often I hear songs sung by Jim as they are beautiful and nobody else has a voice like his. I could listen to his music all day and not get bored. Keep playing them.

Bob and Dorisit seems like you two should exchange email IDs and that way you won’t feel quite so along. I did that with a dear lady that lives in Tennessee and an 18 year old young man in Africa, which has been a blessing to this 93 years young at heart lady. Beings 93 years of age that really brought back a lot of beautiful memories. His bass voice was so smooth and he really touched a person’s heart with this Love Song for sure. May GODs angels continue to watch over all of you forever, is my prayer..

Being 82yrs old has an advantage…….I remember when this was first made popular. I love all of his songs. Used to have them on a record, but it got destroyed in a flood (in our basement). Wish I had him on a CD, but then again, my player is just a small one & doesn’t sound anything like the recording on the record. Those were some of the best years in my life.
