In the Garden – Jim Reeves
James Travis Reeves (August 20, 1923 – July 31, 1964) was an American country and popular music singer-songwriter. With records charting from the 1950s to the 1980s, he became well known as a practitioner of the Nashville sound. Known as “Gentleman Jim”, his songs continued to chart for years after his death. Reeves died in the crash of his private airplane. He is a member of both the Country Music and Texas Country Music Halls of Fame. What did you think? I love all Jim Reeves songs, and this is a favorite too.

What a beautiful song this is; so comforting and relaxing. He sings it with such realism. This song shows that we, too, can have a personal relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ, and talk with Him and take comfort in His closeness. I wonder if Jim Reeves also wrote this song—he sings it with such realism that you can actually picture him In The Garden with his Savior, Jesus. Thank you for making this song available to all of us.

No he did not write In the Garden It was written by a former pharmacist in 1912 after a vision he had of Mary and Jesus in the garden.
C. Austin Miles 1868-1946 wrote many other hymns and cantatas.
